Doug Geiling - Adventurer. Writer.

Colorado adventure journalist and author of Crack for Trout Bums Doug Geiling

Immersive Human Writing

My narrative travel writing sits at the crossroads of adventure and conservation, enriched with cultural and historical flavor. Along the lesser-trodden paths I seek, the untold stories of adventure are unearthed where history and culture collide with place.

These stories must be whittled from the heartwood of immersive experience. The reader of adventure travel demands that the author was there on the mountain, and that the account of the experience was forged with their footprints in the mud.

I am a 3x Colorado Press Association award-winning journalist, book author, and lifelong adventurer (46 states, 20 countries, and thousands of trail and water miles). With a former career in corporate project management, I bring the discipline and professional polish needed to maximize your return on investment. I treat every hosted trip as a long-term project with the goal of generating multiple published articles across print and digital outlets.

I am currently open to new commissions and writing projects. For inquiries or to discuss a specific assignment, please get in touch via email at bluestone9397@gmail.com or give me a call or text at (303) 725-4471.
